Child Safety Advice
In early 2014, the standards regarding the manufacture, supply and professional installation of curtains changed, to prevent harm to young children on cords, chains and tracks.
All curtains supplied, must now comply with the Child Safety Requirements of BS EN 13120:2009+A1:2014. This standard aims to protect babies and small children, by ensuring the installation of safer curtains in ALL HOMES and other premises where young children may be present.
For many years, even before this legislation, SW Curtains has been proactive in promoting safer curtains and fixings, and is a keen supporter of the ‘Make it Safe’ campaign, which was set up by the British Blind and Shutter Association. We have worked extremely hard to ensure that our curtains are both, user- friendly and safer for children, and that all curtains we supply are compliant with the new standards.
